What are Playbooks?

Use Playbooks to turn operational instructions into scalable, auditable AI work.

What are Playbooks?

Playbooks are V7 Go's AI-native workflows for repeatable business processes. A Playbook holds the instructions, inputs, decisions, integrations, and outputs needed to complete one process.

Use a Playbook when a short prompt is not enough. Playbooks can support a single task, but they are designed to become the operating instructions for a team, business function, or department.

What a Playbook does

  • Runs detailed, multi-step instructions.
  • Uses files, knowledge, and MCP integrations where the process needs them.
  • Records the path through a run, including decisions, outputs, warnings, issues, and available citations.
  • Helps a team improve the process from evidence in earlier runs.

Playbooks and Skills

A Skill gives an AI reusable guidance for a focused task. A Playbook runs an operational process.

Use a Skill to teach a capability. Use a Playbook to run, inspect, compare, and improve a complete process. Playbooks add durable run history, structured step results where available, integration readiness, recorded decision paths, and improvement signals.

Playbooks and Workflows

Both features automate work in V7 Go. Use Workflows for fine-grained technical configuration, high determinism, and long-term token efficiency. Use Playbooks for flexible, instruction-led work that teams can run and refine through chat or MCP clients such as ChatGPT and Claude.

You can ask the Go Agent to turn a Workflow into a Playbook. Use care with a large Workflow built by engineers. A model may not understand every dependency end to end. Ask your V7 account manager for help when a conversion affects a critical process.

Availability

Playbooks can be enabled per workspace. Contact your V7 account team if the Playbooks area is not available in your workspace.
